The BAT Steel Slag Treatment Technology
Steel slag is the by-product during steel-making process, accounting for 10%-15% steel production. Traditional slag treatment process disadvantages lies in poor safety, heavy pollution, long flow path and less recycle application. The BSSF (Baosteel Short Slag Flow) Technology was put forward to solve the above difficulties which had formed a complete set green technology. The BSSF Technology had successively won China National Technological Invention Award and International Steel Association Technical Innovation Award, Composed with over 80 patents and 16 knowhows. The BSSF Technology took the lead by being the 1st to treat the steel slag in a closed vessel rather than pour it directly to ground. A lot of Iron&Steel company such as Baosteel,MA STEEL,HBIS Group Hansteel company,JISCO,QDIS,Dragon Steel(Taiwan),POSCO,JSW(India),CSP(Brazil)had successfully applied the BSSF Technology,and the BSSF Technology was praised as the BAT for steel slag treatment.
Short Flow Path
Perfectly coped with the rhythm of steel-making process, The BSSF Technology can handle the high temperature molten slag continuously and efficiently with specific capacity 2-3t/min(1 set) and small installation area.
Clean development

Slag was tapped form the LD or EAF while the processed slag discharged into the stock bin without dropping onto the ground during the whole process.

Serialization

Serial equipment were elaborately developed for molten slags produced from different steel-making process plant.

The Slag Treatment System of No.1 Steel-making Plant in Baosteel

3×300t LD,8.3 Mt/y Steel with 1.05Mt/y LD steel slag

Commissioned in October 28th,2014,the BSSF technology meet the matching requirement of 8.3Mt/y steel with the slag treatment capacity of 1.05Mt/y,It has become an international top-level slag disposal model project with over 90% treatment rate.
